01 - Who We Are

Building Stronger Communities Together

Nyota means “star” in Swahili. The name reflects the foundation's aim to bring brightness into lives shadowed by poverty, illiteracy, illness and material need.

Nyota gives a helping hand wherever possible, especially to communities often overlooked by society, through practical work in water, education, health, orphan welfare, skills and food relief.

We support values which promote self dignity and accountability.
